Day 1 | Entebbe

Arrive in Entebbe from your international flight and you'll be met by our representative and transferred to Papyrus Guest House for your first night here.

In the afternoon you'll depart by car and local canoe to Mabamba Swamp, one of the best places for spotting the rare shoebill storks. Of course, some fortune is needed but rarely does one leave the swamp without seeing one! Many other water birds have chosen this area as their home so birding is always very interesting. Enjoy a relaxing sundowner on Lake Victoria and then return to the Guest House for some sleep before your gorilla safari begins.

Days 2-4 | Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe international airport for your Aerolink flight to Kisoro, across the southwestern Tuscan-like landscape to a serene forest lodge on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You’ll spend three nights in a forest cottage with spell-bound views of the Virunga Volcanoes, the rugged Rift Valley, and the steamy forest canopy. On the second day, you’ll be guided into the pristine jungle to find a mountain gorilla family and spend one electrifying hour silently observing their evolutionary life.

You’ll also explore the rugged rural region on foot, with immersive walks through communities and terraced gardens. Engage with the Batwa native tribe on a forest trail, showcasing their ancient cultures, drama, hunting and survival skills when they occupied the gorilla-filled jungles.
