Botswana is often considered one of the greatest safari destinations in Africa, offering exceptional wildlife viewing across varied landscapes, and a chance to truly get back to the roots of isolated wilderness. Best Time to Visit
There isn't really a bad time to go to Botswana! Traditionally the high season runs from July to October when rates can often double during this period which is something to watch out for. Weather-wise the rains and warmer temperatures usually come from November to April (January/February are the wettest months) and May to October is therefore considered to be the dry season, but can be a little colder on those early morning drives in July and August.
If you are looking to visit Botswana without breaking the bank we absolutely love April and May for the best weather and the great value trips that can be taken at that time, with the added benefit of lush green scenery and many newborns.
