TAILOR-MADE INSPIRATION

Botswana & Zambia Essence

10 days from Maun to Livingstone

Why we love this itinerary

Exploring the waterways of the Okavango and the wetlands of Linyati always makes for a very special trip and one of our all time favourites. We can honestly say there are exceptional and diverse wildlife encounters year-round. Combining it with Victoria Falls is a no brainer for us given the location, and the setting of each camp or lodge has been chosen specifically to make the most of each area.

Days 1-4 | Khwai Concession, Botswana

A short bush flight from Maun and you'll be in the Khwai area in no time! A scattering of palm-dotted islands, floodplains and woodlands make up this unique landscape. The Khwai concession is known for it's abundant wildlife, especially predators, including leopard, lion and the rare wild dog. During the day, you'll enjoy game drives, walking safaris and mokoro safaris (water levels permitting) on the search for Africa’s wildlife. An additional virtue of this area is that you can also head off on night drives and get an up-close and personal experience with some of Africa’s nocturnal and more elusive animals.

Khwai Leadwood

Days 4-7 | Chobe, Botswana

As the only source of water in the dry months, the Linyanti Marsh is one of the most sought-after destinations in Northern Botswana, boasting a great diversity of game and a peaceful atmosphere. Linyanti Bush Camp offers a personalized safari experience on a private concession on the edge of Chobe, away from the crowded tourist routes. The area offers spectacular birding all year round and is best known for its large herds of elephants that move down the Linyanti River at the start of the winter months and only move back inland once the main rains arrive. Lion, Buffalo, Sable, Roan, Leopard and Wild Dog are also frequent visitors to Linyanti as is the elusive Sitatunga Antelope, Red Lechwe, Hippo and Crocodile.

Linyati Bush Camp

Days 7-10 | Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, Zambia

Paradise awaits at your final destination! Choose to spend your days relaxing on the floating deck and traversing the Zambezi river by boat, or explore the area of Livingstone and Victoria Falls and get swept away by the many activities on offer. From bungee jumping to helicopter rides, there's something for everyone to enjoy and make the most of this area.
